Job Summary
Manage daily site operations, including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervise all direct labor positions and oversee contracted work to ensure successful project completion. Coordinate pre-construction meetings, interpret specifications, and develop look-ahead schedules to assess progress and spot issues. Direct procurement of tools and materials, resolve grievances, and meet regularly with craft personnel, subcontractors, and clients to update them on construction issues and progress. Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with specifications and construction schedules, while managing the project based on progress reports, materials used, and costs. Ensure company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements are implemented consistently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in ground-up light industrial or commercial construction projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and from the project site
- Understands and applies building codes and other design requirements correctly
- Ability to read blueprints accurately
- Good understanding and knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances
- Good written and verbal communication skills
