Job Summary
Conduct daily site operations including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervise all direct labor positions and oversee contracted work to ensure successful project completion. Direct procurement of tools and materials to conform to work schedules while inspecting progress to verify adherence to specifications. Coordinate pre-construction meetings, resolve labor grievances, and manage crew mixes to minimize hiring and layoffs. Interact with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to update them on progress and address construction issues. Maintain safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements while managing costs and adjusting work schedules accordingly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in ground-up light industrial or commercial construction projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and from the project site
- Understanding and application of building codes and other design requirements
- Ability to read blueprints accurately
- Good understanding and knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances
- Good written and verbal communication skills
