Job Summary
Traveling Clinical Specialist RN provides clinical leadership support in assisted living communities, covering primarily Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, and San Antonio, TX with Monday–Friday travel. Responsible for overall direction and coordination of nursing services, supervising nursing staff, onboarding and training Wellness Directors, ensuring compliance with state regulations, conducting timely resident assessments, overseeing medication management, charting, and family communications. Includes budgeting oversight, marketing support, eligibility assessments for residents, staff recognition, scheduling, on-call duty, incident reporting, and adherence to confidentiality. Requires RN licensure, experience in senior housing/geriatric care, leadership experience, travel readiness (up to 100%), CPR/First Aid certification, English proficiency, and availability for on-call and occasional non-traditional hours.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 1 year experience in senior housing and/or geriatric nursing
- Minimum 2 years experience as Director of Nursing or Wellness Director
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time within assigned market (overnight travel may be required)
- Prior management experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to become certified within first 90 days
- Read/write/speak English proficiently and communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and team members
- Ability to be on call, and occasionally work nights, weekends and holidays
