Job Summary

Oversee daily field operations for sewer and water projects by enforcing safety protocols, inspecting work for quality compliance, and managing subcontractors and labor resources. Control costs through efficient utilization of manpower and equipment while utilizing HCSS Heavy Job Software to determine production standards. Direct crew mobilization, produce workforce schedules, and track project budgets to ensure timely completion within assigned limits. Act as a liaison among clients, project managers, and superintendents to coordinate project requirements and obtain proper authorizations for change orders. Manage field personnel fairly, address performance issues, and ensure all teams are properly trained in safety and supervisory skills. Participate in regular job site meetings and maintain accurate daily reports documenting associates' performance. Requires 8 to 10-hour workdays with occasional weekends and 100% travel throughout the United States.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of five years as a Superintendent overseeing construction projects
Experience in sewer and water construction
OSHA 10-Hour certification
OSHA 30-Hour certification
Pipelayer's Card
Excavation Safety Training
Confined Space Entry certification
Blueprint Reading certification
CPR and First Aid certification
Ability to obtain the above certifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency with iPad applications
Proficiency with iPhone applications
Ability to read, interpret, and analyze policies, reports, construction plans, specifications, and legal documents
Strong ability to communicate and coordinate project requirements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide clear directions and respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and industry professionals
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to address individuals and large groups, including top management
Valid driver's license
Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to pass a background check
Willingness to join the union, if necessary
Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move around construction sites for extended periods (8-12 hours per day)
Ability to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated structures
Ability to stoop or kneel
Strong vision, including near and far vision, depth perception, and ability to read fine print on blueprints, contracts, and reports
Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility vests for extended periods
Ability to exchange accurate information while frequently communicating with employees and clients
Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat
Ability to work in variable terrain
Ability to work near machines and in loud noises
Ability to work in environmental conditions associated with construction sites
