Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic vascular imaging using duplex scanning, color Doppler, and spectral analysis to evaluate arterial and venous blood flow, detect occlusions, and assess stenoses. Prepare and position patients for examinations while ensuring safety and comfort, then analyze sonograms for diagnostic accuracy and calibrate ultrasound equipment as needed. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate findings into patient care plans and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Perform clinical assessments in high-pressure environments requiring critical thinking and effective communication.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
- Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Valid Ultrasound license in compliance with state regulations
- Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification (ARDMS)
- Current ARRT Certification in Sonography
- Current Credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
