Job Summary

Perform diagnostic sonography examinations of general and vascular studies using high-frequency sound waves to generate images of internal organs and blood vessels. Prepare and position patients for accurate imaging while ensuring their comfort and safety, then evaluate sonograms for clarity and diagnostic accuracy. Calibrate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to maintain functionality and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in line with legal and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to integrate diagnostic imaging into patient care plans. Work efficiently in fast-paced environments while applying critical thinking to perform procedures effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Valid Ultrasound license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification (ARDMS)
  • Current ARRT certification in Sonography
  • Current credential from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
  • Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
