Job Summary
Prepare the operating room by ensuring it is safe, sterile, and fully stocked with functioning equipment. Wash and disinfect incision sites, transport patients, and assist during surgery by passing sterile instruments, holding organs in place, and maintaining a sterile field. Count supplies before and after procedures to prevent foreign objects from entering patients, then perform wound care including bandaging and restocking the room. Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure patient care standards. Requires surgical tech training, BLS certification, and proficiency in computer applications. Schedule options include 3x 12-hour shifts, 4x 10-hour shifts, or 5x 8-hour shifts with on-call rotation discussed during interviews. Health insurance is available upon assignment start.
Required Qualifications
- 3x 12h or 4x 10h or 5x 8h
- Required - surgical tech training (formal or informal)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Must be able to stand for long periods and remain alert during operations
Desired Qualifications
