Job Summary
Prepare the operating room by ensuring safety, sterility, and proper equipment function. Wash and disinfect incision sites, transport patients, and assist during surgery by passing instruments, holding organs, and maintaining a sterile field. Count supplies before and after procedures to prevent foreign objects, then perform wound care and restock the room. Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure patient care standards. Requires surgical tech training, BLS certification, and proficiency in sterile technique, with shifts ranging from 12-hour to 8-hour rotations. Health insurance is available upon assignment start.
Required Qualifications
- 3x 12h or 4x 10h or 5x 8h
- Required - surgical tech training (formal or informal)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills and ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Must be able to stand for long periods and remain alert during operations
Desired Qualifications
