Travel Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary

Review and evaluate patient medical records to determine required speech-language therapy programs, then administer prescribed therapeutic modalities to restore function and prevent disability. Coordinate interdisciplinary team conferences with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nursing departments, while developing program goals and assessing clinical equipment needs. Manage and document the patient program according to ASHA Standards of Care, monitor staffing productivity, and complete all clinical and billing documentation. Assignments operate on 13-week internal contracts with a monthly living stipend and full-time benefits, including health insurance and PTO. Candidates must provide their own transportation between visits and be available to travel to any location within the organization's 10-state footprint.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school
  • A valid registered license is required for Symbria's operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state
  • If using a compact license, must have a full license in your state of residence
  • Understanding of communication disorders resulting from neurological impairments
  • Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Effective interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service
  • Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments
  • Available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services

Desired Qualifications

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

Additional Requirements

  • Must provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments
