Job Summary
Review and evaluate physician referrals and medical records to determine required speech-language therapy programs, then administer prescribed therapeutic modalities to restore function and prevent disability. Coordinate services with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nursing during interdisciplinary conferences, while developing program goals and managing clinical equipment needs. Assume primary responsibility for patient documentation, billing, and productivity monitoring in compliance with ASHA Standards of Care. Complete all clinical and billing tasks in a timely manner. Assignments are 13-week internal contracts with a monthly living stipend, offering continuous placement for one year with potential for relocation assistance after.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school
- A valid registered license is required for Symbria's operating states, or the ability to obtain a license or compact license to support assignments in any designated state
- If using a compact license, must have a full license in your state of residence
- Understanding of communication disorders resulting from neurological impairments
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and basic math skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal skills with strong focus on customer service
- Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to provide own transportation between patient visits and travel assignments
- Available and willing to travel to any location where Symbria provides contracted therapy services
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
