Job Summary
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages using standardized assessments and clinical observation. Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices. Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed documentation in the electronic medical record. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices while offering supportive counseling. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care and adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines. Maintain a safe treatment environment and engage in quality assurance initiatives to remain current with best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification ( AHA/ARC )
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree or higher of Speech Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
- Speech Language Pathology experience
