Job Summary
Prepare tray set-ups, take diagnostic X-Rays, and assist with bonding, banding, and orthodontic adjustments while maintaining infection control protocols. Monitor patient vital signs, suction, cut sutures, and hold retractors during procedures for general dentistry and oral surgery patients. Educate patients and parents on oral health, review charts prior to doctor arrival, and ensure comprehension of post-op instructions. Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and manage crash cart equipment. Work with oral and IV sedated patients in office and hospital settings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
- Ability to travel
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience
- Bilingual (Spanish)
