Travel Security Manager - APAC

Job Summary

Own day-to-day travel security operations across APAC, including high-risk travel reviews, traveler briefings, monitoring, escalation, incident response, and traveler accountability. Produce intelligence-led risk assessments, advisories, and decision briefs for employees and senior stakeholders while managing external providers and service quality. Lead responses to medical emergencies, security incidents, natural disasters, and transport disruptions. Maintain regional procedures, playbooks, and after-action reviews, partnering with business teams to deliver proportionate security measures. Use metrics and automation to improve service quality and scale. Report to the Global Travel Security Manager with approximately 25% of time spent traveling across APAC and other regions. This role supports the safety and resilience of OpenAI employees globally within the Corporate Security team.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of directly relevant experience in corporate travel security or travel risk management
  • recent ownership of a regional or global program
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of travel security operations
  • Substantial operating experience across multiple APAC subregions
  • Proven experience leading significant traveler incidents
  • Supporting complex, fast-moving crises involving incomplete information and multiple stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience translating intelligence into clear recommendations, decision points, traveler communications, and operational actions
  • Hands-on experience with travel management data, traveler tracking or mass communication platforms
  • Experience managing external providers
  • Working effectively across global, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to brief senior leaders
  • Communicate calmly and clearly with travelers under pressure
  • Sound judgment
  • Discretion
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Knowing when and how to escalate
  • Travel across APAC
  • Occasionally to other regions
  • Travel comprising approximately 25% of the role
  • Based in Singapore

Desired Qualifications

  • Deeper operating experience in East Asia
  • Professional capability in an additional APAC language
  • Experience applying ISO 31030 or a comparable travel risk management framework
  • Practical experience using data, workflow automation, or AI-assisted tools to improve travel security operations
  • Appropriate validation and human oversight
