Job Summary
Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses in the ICU. Independently assess, treat, and manage patients by performing diagnostic tests, administering chest physiotherapy, and monitoring oxygen delivery. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and educate patients or families on medication and equipment use. Complete other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice while maintaining visual acuity and communicating effectively in English. This 13-week assignment requires one year of recent RRT experience and a valid NBRC credential.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move about
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to bend
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
