Job Summary
Float to 22 different medical and surgical units across a Level 1 trauma center, working side by side with interdisciplinary teams including PAs, NPs, residents, and attending physicians. Provide care in a 36-hour, 12-hour shift schedule with rotations including every third weekend or every other weekend. Maintain competency to float to areas with need, utilizing advanced skills such as central line placement, paracentesis, and wound vac management. Work within a 766-bed facility offering access to both adult and pediatric populations.
Required Qualifications
- RN
- BLS
- Medical-Surgical certification
- At least one year of general Medicine/Surgery
- Ability and willingness to float to 22 different medical and surgical units
- Must be flexible in assignments
- Comfortable with change
- Willing to learn new skills
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for every third weekend
- Must be available for every other weekend
- Must be available for every other Friday
- Must be available for every other holiday
- Must be available for all shifts
- Must be available for weekend block Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon
- Must be available for weekend block Fri/Sat/Sun
