Job Summary
Assess patient needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse groups while communicating and managing nursing team resources. Utilize the nursing process to deliver patient care, adapt explanations to specific populations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Work directly with patients in an emergency department setting, managing heavy lifting and exposure to blood or body fluids. Requires a current RN license in Louisiana or Compact, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus two years of ER experience. Flexible PRN schedule with competitive pay rates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Valid RN license in the state of work
- RN license for Louisiana or Compact
- 2+ years experience in ER
- Minimum 2 year experience in ER
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Reliable transportation
- Punctuality
