Job Summary
Provide direct patient care for individuals undergoing dialysis treatment in an outpatient or chronic setting. Assess patients' conditions before, during, and after dialysis, administer prescribed treatments and medications, and operate dialysis equipment while ensuring proper sterilization. Educate patients and families on procedures and dietary restrictions, collaborate with nephrologists to develop care plans, and document progress in the electronic medical record. Respond promptly to adverse reactions, adhere to infection control policies, and provide emotional support to patients coping with chronic kidney disease. Requires 1+ year of recent dialysis experience, current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of recent experience as a dialysis nurse
- Graduate from an accredited nursing school
- Current state specific RN license in good standing, or if applicable, a compact state RN license in good standing
- BLS certification required (Chronic and Acute settings)
- ACLS certification required (Acute setting only)
