Job Summary
Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including independent assessment, treatment, and management in intensive care and emergency settings. Perform diagnostic tests such as lung capacity measurements and collect blood or sputum samples while setting up and monitoring oxygen equipment to ensure correct delivery rates. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans, observe patient progress, and educate patients or families on medication and equipment use. Maintain accurate records of patient status and complete other duties as assigned within the scope of RRT practice.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking
