Job Summary
Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including intensive care and emergency situations. Independently assess, treat, and manage patients while collaborating with physicians to develop treatment plans. Perform diagnostic tests, administer aerosol medications, and monitor oxygen delivery rates. Educate patients and families on medication usage and equipment operation. Maintain accurate patient status records and observe progress. Requires one year of recent RRT experience, NBRC credential, valid Louisiana license, and BLS certification. 13-week travel assignment in Metairie, Louisiana.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking
