Job Summary
Travel Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians to develop treatment plans, examining/interviewing patients with respiratory/cardiopulmonary disorders, performing diagnostic tests, administering chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications, setting up and monitoring oxygen delivery, observing and recording patient status, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, educating patients and families on medications and device usage, and performing other duties within the RRT scope of practice. The role emphasizes independent assessment, treatment, and management of patients in ICU and emergency settings, with an emphasis on patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC) (preferred)
