Job Summary
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans for individuals with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses. Examine and interview patients to assess breathing and cardiopulmonary conditions, then perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity or collecting samples. Treat patients using chest physiotherapy, aerosol medications, and equipment monitoring to ensure correct oxygen delivery. Observe and record patient status while educating patients and families on medication and equipment use. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver appropriate care, perform other duties as assigned, and maintain proficiency in English communication and PC skills.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

- ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC)
