Job Summary
Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including independent assessment, treatment, and management in intensive care or emergency settings. Perform diagnostic tests such as lung capacity measurements and collect blood or sputum samples while administering chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans, monitor equipment settings for accurate oxygen delivery, and record patient status and progress. Educate patients and families on medication usage and equipment operation. Maintain licensure and BLS certification, with ACLS or PALS preferred. This 13-week assignment in New Haven, Connecticut, offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
