Job Summary
Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Independently assess, treat, and manage patients across intensive care units and emergency situations, including performing diagnostic tests, administering aerosol medications, and monitoring oxygen delivery. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans, observe patient progress, and educate families on medication and equipment use. Maintain equipment functionality and ensure accurate patient status documentation. Requires one year of recent RRT experience, NBRC credential, and valid state license. Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
