Job Summary

Conduct advanced respiratory care for patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including assessment, treatment, and management in intensive care or emergency settings. Perform diagnostic tests such as lung capacity measurements and sample collection, while setting up and monitoring oxygen delivery equipment. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop treatment plans, educate patients on medication use, and observe patient status and progress. Maintain equipment functionality and ensure accurate medication administration through aerosol therapies and chest physiotherapy. Maintain current RRT credential, BLS certification, and Virginia license for this 13-week assignment in Norfolk, Virginia.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
  • Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
