Job Summary
Travel Respiratory Therapist provides advanced respiratory care to patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses in a 13-week travel assignment. Responsibilities include collaborating with physicians to develop patient treatment plans, examining and interviewing patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders, performing diagnostic tests (lung capacity, blood/sputum samples), delivering treatments including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications, setting up and monitoring oxygen delivery, observing and recording patient status, working with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care, and educating patients and families on medications and equipment usage. Requires NBRC RRT credential, valid state license, and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred; strong critical thinking, communication, and technical skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
