Job Summary
Assess, treat, and manage patients with complex pulmonary disorders and critical illnesses, including those in intensive care units and emergency situations. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans while performing diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood samples. Treat patients through chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications, set up and monitor oxygen equipment, and educate patients and families on medication use and equipment operation. Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care while observing and recording patient status and progress.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
