Job Summary
Administer respiratory treatments, including aerosol medications and oxygen therapy, while monitoring equipment to ensure correct dosage and rate. Perform diagnostics tests such as measuring lung capacity or collecting blood and sputum samples, and assist in implementing and adjusting patient treatment plans under physician or RRT guidance. Examine and interview patients with breathing disorders, observe and record patient status, and educate families on proper medication usage and device operation. Maintain critical thinking and communication skills to work effectively with diverse personnel while adhering to irregular activity schedules and deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking
