Job Summary
Conduct respiratory interventions and support for patients with acute respiratory problems, including administering aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, and monitoring equipment. Examine and interview patients with breathing disorders, perform diagnostics such as lung capacity measurements, and observe patient status to assist in adjusting treatment plans. Educate patients and families on proper medication usage and device operation while recording progress. Maintain equipment functionality and ensure correct oxygen delivery rates. Work under the guidance of physicians or RRTs with critical thinking skills to manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Critical thinking
