Job Summary
A Certified Respiratory Therapist delivers respiratory interventions and support for patients with acute respiratory problems, as well as routine care for chronic respiratory disorders. They administer respiratory treatments, monitor equipment, and educate patients and families on proper usage of respiratory therapies and devices. Responsibilities include assisting in implementing and adjusting patient treatment plans under physician guidance, examining patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders, performing diagnostics, administering aerosol medications and oxygen therapy, setting up and monitoring equipment, observing patient status, educating patients/families, and performing other duties within CRT practice. Essential skills include critical thinking, excellent service, strong interpersonal communication, English literacy, and the ability to read and follow instructions; physical, technical, mental, and sensory requirements are noted for job performance. Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
- Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
