Job Summary
The Travel Registered Nurse I conducts assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions within health care and housing units. Responsibilities include planning individual treatment programs, administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and implementing clinical care in a correctional environment. The role requires effective communication with healthcare providers and adherence to professional nursing standards. Candidates must be licensed registered nurses with CPR certification, and a strong preference is given to those with clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state of practice; compact nursing licensure required
- Current CPR certification required
- Good physical and mental health; able to work under pressure; able to relate well to patients, security staff, visitors and co-workers
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for a minimum of two (2) years clinical experience
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Corrections experience preferred
Additional Requirements
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
- Must have open availability to travel as needed per staffing needs
- Must be willing to work day or night shifts according to staffing needs
