Job Summary
Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription, administer prescribed radiation doses using advanced equipment, and perform regular equipment checks to ensure functionality. Review patient charts and prescriptions to confirm compliance, follow radiation protection principles for patient and staff safety, and maintain detailed records of dosages and settings. Conduct treatment sessions independently under physician direction while observing and reporting unusual patient reactions. Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move about
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
