Job Summary
Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription to ensure effective therapy and minimize exposure to healthy tissue. Administer prescribed radiation doses to targeted body parts using advanced equipment while adhering to established safety protocols. Perform regular equipment checks, review patient charts and prescriptions for compliance, and conduct treatment sessions independently under physician direction. Maintain accurate records of dosages and settings, observe patients for unusual reactions, and report findings to the medical team.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to read
- Must be able to write
- Must be able to communicate in the English language
- Must be able to read/comprehend written instructions
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions
- Must have proficiency in PC skills
