Job Summary
Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription to ensure effective treatment and minimize exposure to healthy tissue. Administer prescribed doses of radiation to targeted body parts using equipment according to established practices and safety protocols. Perform regular equipment checks to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed. Review prescriptions, diagnosis, patient charts, and identification to confirm accuracy and compliance with the treatment plan. Follow radiation protection principles to ensure safety for patients, self, and others. Maintain records including radiation dosages, equipment settings, or patient reactions. Conduct treatment sessions independently in accordance with the long-term treatment plan under the general direction of the physician. Enter data into computers to operate or adjust equipment and regulate dosage. Observe and reassure patients during treatment while reporting unusual reactions to the physician.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ARRT Certification
- Other certifications and licenses

- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
