Job Summary
Administer targeted radiation therapy to treat cancerous tumors as prescribed by radiologists and oncologists. Position patients with precision, operate advanced radiation therapy equipment, and ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation protection protocols. Perform regular equipment checks, review prescriptions and patient charts for accuracy, and conduct treatment sessions independently under physician direction. Maintain records of dosages and settings while observing and reporting unusual patient reactions. This 13-week travel assignment in Las Cruces, New Mexico, offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and support from a dedicated clinical team.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary)
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
