Job Summary

Position patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription to ensure effective treatment and minimize exposure to healthy tissue. Administer prescribed doses of radiation to targeted body parts using advanced equipment while adhering to established safety protocols. Perform regular equipment checks to ensure functionality and troubleshoot issues as needed. Review prescriptions, diagnosis, and patient charts to confirm accuracy and compliance with the treatment plan. Follow radiation protection principles to ensure safety for patients, self, and others. Maintain records including radiation dosages, equipment settings, and patient reactions. Conduct treatment sessions independently in accordance with the long-term plan under the general direction of the physician. Enter data into computer systems to set controls and regulate dosage. Observe and reassure patients during sessions, reporting any unusual reactions to the physician. Complete a 13-week assignment in Atlanta, Georgia, with one year of recent experience and current BLS certification required.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • One year of recent experience as a Radiation Therapist
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Current ARRT Certification
  • Other certifications and licenses
