Job Summary
Provide advanced specialized care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in high acuity settings. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, implement complex care plans, and administer prescribed medications and treatments. Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and central line setups, while continuously monitoring vital signs and clinical data to detect deviations. Respond to life-saving situations based on pediatric nursing standards and protocols. Explain procedures to pediatric patients and families to ensure understanding and emotional support. Document all relevant history and physical assessments accurately. Maintain infection control guidelines and adhere to hospital safety protocols. Requires one year of recent PICU experience, valid RN license, BLS, and PALS certifications. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits included.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PICU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- CCRN certification
