Job Summary

Conduct advanced specialized care for critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in high acuity settings. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, implement complex care plans, and administer prescribed medications and treatments according to pediatric protocols. Prepare and operate advanced medical equipment, including ventilators and hemodynamic monitors, while continuously monitoring vital signs and interpreting clinical data to detect deviations. Respond to life-saving situations based on pediatric nursing standards, document all assessments in medical records, and educate patients and families on procedures and treatments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. This 13-week travel assignment at a facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for a skilled PICU RN with one year of recent experience.

Required Qualifications

  • One year of recent experience as a PICU RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
  • Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
  • Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
  • Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
  • Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

Desired Qualifications

  • ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
  • CCRN certification
