Job Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans that improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance functional independence. Provides hands-on assistance with therapeutic exercises, modalities, and activities of daily living; documents patient progress; educates patients on home exercise programs; collaborates with the healthcare team to support recovery and quality of life. Essential duties include setting up therapy areas, guiding prescribed exercises, observing and reporting progress, recording treatment details, instructing patients/caregivers on home programs, and contributing to discharge planning. Requires critical thinking, effective communication, and ability to work with a multidisciplinary team; must read/write English and have PC skills; physical ability to position and transfer patients and lift 50-100 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license per state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Preferred: Graduate of an accredited PTA program
- Preferred: PTA experience; new grads welcome
