Job Summary
Conduct hands-on assistance with therapeutic exercises, modalities, and activities of daily living to improve patient mobility, reduce pain, and enhance functional independence. Guide patients through prescribed movements and transfers while observing performance to report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Set up therapy equipment, instruct patients on home exercise programs and assistive device use, and accurately document treatment details in medical records. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care and discharge planning, maintaining a safe environment through adherence to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy
- Physical Therapy Assistant experience
- Critical thinking
