Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – Acute Care / Rehab Services

Job Summary

Conduct patient evaluations, functional mobility assessments, and develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients across ICU, telemetry, and medical/surgical units. Deliver therapeutic exercises, early mobility interventions including vent mobility, and adjust treatment plans based on progress monitoring. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Cerner, collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and educate patients and families on recovery and discharge planning. This acute care role in Merced includes 40 guaranteed hours, day shift coverage, and exposure to stroke-certified programs and diverse populations.

Required Qualifications

  • Active California Physical Therapist License
  • BLS Certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be available for split schedules
  • Must be able to float within inpatient services
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday schedule
  • Must be able to work 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM shift
  • Must be able to work 40 hours guaranteed per week
  • Must be able to work 5x8 Hours
  • Must be able to work Day Shift
  • Must be able to work in Merced, California
  • Must be able to work in acute care hospital setting
  • Must be able to work in ICU
  • Must be able to work in Telemetry
  • Must be able to work in Medical and surgical units
  • Must be able to work in Orthopedic and neurological cases
  • Must be able to work in Pulmonary and medically complex patients
  • Must be able to work with Cerner EMR
  • Must be able to work with PT, OT, and Speech Therapy teams
  • Must be able to work with diverse patient populations from pediatrics (OP) to geriatrics (IP)
  • Must be able to work in stroke-certified facility
  • Must be able to work in facility with early mobility programs
  • Must be able to work in facility with specialized rehab services
  • Must be able to complete all onboarding and compliance requirements
  • Must be able to complete active state licensure verification
  • Must be able to complete skills checklist and competency validation
  • Must be able to complete orientation and facility onboarding

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in acute care hospital settings
  • Experience with early mobility programs
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR
