Job Summary
Prepare the operating room, manage surgical equipment, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Maintain a sterile field throughout procedures, monitor patient condition, and document significant changes while anticipating team needs. Handle instruments, manage specimen collection, and assist in cleaning and restocking between cases. Participate in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases. This 13-week travel assignment in Chicago, Illinois, requires one year's recent Pediatric OR experience, valid RN license, and current BLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications. Preferred qualifications include ACLS and CNOR.
Required Qualifications
- One year's recent experience as a Pediatric Operating Room RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS or ENPC certifications
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
