Travel PCU Stepdown RN

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care. Essential duties include monitoring cardiac rhythms and telemetry data, administering prescribed medications with focus on cardiac care, preparing equipment for cardiac procedures, monitoring telemetry patients’ comfort and safety, responding to life-threatening events, documenting assessments, initiating patient education on cardiac health and risk factors, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team while adhering to safety and infection-control standards.
