Job Summary
Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferring from the operating room, monitor vital signs, and administer prescribed medications per post-anesthesia protocols. Respond promptly to emergency situations, document all assessments and interventions in medical records, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care during handoffs. Operate PACU-specific equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps while developing individualized discharge education plans for patients and families.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Must be able to move about
- Must be able to move equipment (50-100lbs)
- Must be able to push
- Must be able to pull
- Must be able to bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel
- Must be able to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp
- Must have the ability to perform fine manipulation
- Must have the ability to push/pull
- Must have the ability to move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers
- Must be able to meet deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally
- Must be able to work without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally
- Must be able to maintain continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity
- Must be able to effectively communicate

- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
Desired Qualifications
