Job Summary
Assess post-anesthesia patients transferring from the operating room, monitor vital signs and level of consciousness, and administer prescribed medications per approved techniques. Respond promptly to emergency situations using PACU nursing standards, document assessments and interventions in medical records, and collaborate with the surgical team for comprehensive post-operative care. Operate PACU-specific equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps while delivering individualized education plans to patients and families. Ensure patient safety and comfort during recovery, maintaining awareness of significant incidents and adverse reactions.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
