Job Summary
Assess patients transferring from the operating room, monitor vital signs and consciousness levels, and administer prescribed medications per post-anesthesia protocols. Document assessments, interventions, and recovery progress while responding promptly to emergency situations using established PACU standards. Collaborate with the surgical team for handoff communications and educate patients and families on discharge instructions. Operate PACU-specific equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps. Maintain awareness of safety and comfort needs throughout the 13-week assignment in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
