Job Summary
Assess patients transferring from the operating room, monitor vital signs and level of consciousness, and administer prescribed medications per post-anesthesia protocols. Document assessments, interventions, and recovery progress in medical records while responding promptly to emergency situations using established PACU standards. Collaborate with the surgical team for handoff communications and patient discharge coordination, operating ventilators and infusion pumps as needed. Maintain patient comfort and safety throughout the recovery period. One year of recent PACU RN experience and valid state license required. 13-week travel assignment in San Marcos, Texas.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
