Job Summary
Assess patients transferring from the operating room, monitor vital signs and recovery from anesthesia, and administer prescribed medications per post-anesthesia protocols. Document assessments, interventions, and recovery progress in medical records while responding promptly to emergency situations using PACU nursing standards. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure comprehensive post-operative care, participate in patient handoff communications, and operate PACU-specific equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps. Develop individualized patient and family education plans including discharge instructions. Requires one year of recent PACU experience, valid RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications. 13-week travel assignment in Lamar, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking

- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
