Job Summary
Assess patients transferring from the operating room and monitor vital signs, level of consciousness, and recovery from anesthesia. Administer prescribed medications and treatments while maintaining awareness of comfort and safety needs. Respond promptly to emergency situations, accurately document assessments and interventions, and develop individualized discharge education plans. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure continuity of care between the OR, PACU, and post-PACU units. Operate PACU-specific equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Critical thinking
- Service excellence
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions
- Follow verbal instructions
- Proficiency in PC skills
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Move about
- Move equipment (50-100lbs)
