Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized plans of care, and implement therapeutic interventions including exercise, manual therapy, and functional training for post-operative, orthopedic, and sports-related injuries. Manage a structured outpatient caseload with one-on-one or small-group sessions, utilizing standardized outcome measures to track patient progress. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and support staff to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a modern outpatient setting. This 26-week travel assignment in Cullman, Alabama, offers daytime shifts with access to local outdoor recreation and a supportive clinical environment focused on mentorship and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Alabama
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience or clinical rotations in outpatient orthopedic/sports physical therapy settings
- Strong skills in patient assessment, differential diagnosis within the scope of PT, and development of individualized plan of care
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Up-to-date vaccinations as required by applicable regulatory and clinical standards
- License and OP experience are required
Desired Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic or sports medicine environment
- Experience with a high-volume outpatient caseload
- Background in manual therapy, functional movement assessment, or advanced orthopedic coursework
- Experience with post-operative rehabilitation, return-to-sport programming, and injury prevention
- Comfort working with a diverse patient population including athletes, workers' compensation, and general orthopedic patients
- Familiarity with standardized outcome measures and evidence-based treatment pathways
- History of participation in continuing education, mentorship, or residency programs
- Travel experience is preferred
