Job Summary
Prepare the operating room by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready for each surgical procedure. Assist in positioning patients, maintain a sterile field, and anticipate team needs to support efficient workflow. Monitor patient conditions during surgery, document care accurately, and manage specimen collection and transport per facility protocols. Collaborate with the surgical team on pre- and post-operative handoffs, clean between cases, and adhere to infection control and safety rules. This 13-week travel assignment in Powell, Tennessee requires one year of recent OR RN experience, a valid state license, and current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
- Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel
- Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
- Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications
- Nursing Certification (CNOR)
